Gene total checker
Choose three whole-number values from 0 to 6. Leave an unknown value blank rather than treating it as zero. The checker shows the entries in HP, ATK, EGG order alongside their sum.
Worked examples
6 HP + 6 ATK + 6 EGG = 18. 6 HP + 6 ATK + 0 EGG = 12. 4 HP + 4 ATK + 4 EGG also = 12. The second and third examples share a total but have different distributions.
| HP | ATK | EGG | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| 6 | 6 | 6 | 18 / 18 |
| 6 | 6 | 5 | 17 / 18 |
| 6 | 6 | 0 | 12 / 18 |
| 4 | 4 | 4 | 12 / 18 |
| 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 / 18 |
Why only 6 + 6 + 6 reaches 18
Each of the three inputs is capped at 6. If any input is below 6, the others cannot exceed their caps to make up the difference. All three must therefore be 6 to reach 18.
A total does not replace the three values
Keep the distribution when comparing dragons. A score of 12 does not tell you whether the entries are 6/6/0 or 4/4/4, and this guide does not establish that either is better for a particular task.
Use the dragon glossary to look up species and growth stages alongside the numbers. For another starting task, browse the Grow A Dragon guides.
What this checker cannot tell you
The public description does not provide a probability distribution or a formula connecting these genes to damage, survivability or egg output. The checker cannot estimate the chance of perfect 18, predict a battle, choose the best dragon or calculate inheritance.
Use the checker
A blank selection means unknown. Zero is a real value.
- Select HP, ATK and EGG from your dragon’s displayed values.
- Choose Calculate total to add the three values.
- Read the individual entries as well as the total.
- Changing any input clears the old result. Reset clears all three inputs.
